Survey reveals attitudes to same sex marriage

With the UK’s first same sex marriages scheduled to take place this weekend in England and Wales, a recent survey has revealed that younger gay men are more interested in the idea of getting married than older gay men.

The survey, which was conducted by gay app Jack’d amongst its users, found that 62% of gay men between the ages of 18 and 24 would consider getting married to their partner, compared to only 45% of those over the age of 26.

The findings also revealed that a beach was the most popular venue for a male same sex wedding, with 26% of respondents expressing a preference for this venue. In second place came a garden (17%), followed by a city hall (16%) and a church (12%).

More than 60% of respondents felt that the right age to get married would be somewhere in their 30’s. Only 3% said they would like to get married before the age of 20.
